American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging: Quality First Program:
Since 2004, Regina Health Center has committed to the Membership Covenant of the AAHSA Quality First Program. Through this program our health care facility pledges to commit to these steps to achieve excellence:
We are committed to achieving excellence in the quality of care and services provided to consumers and to earning the public’s trust.
We believe that aging has a fulfilling purpose in life and that our society’s elders have enduring value to family and community.
We believe that not-for-profit organizations have a special role in society to provide healthy, affordable, and ethical aging services. Our objective is to provide the highest quality and most compassionate care and services to the people we serve.
We believe that the field of aging services should adhere to applicable legal, ethical and professional standards that are based on stated values and policies in each of our organizations.
We believe that we should strive to offer programs and services that are based on contemporary research and knowledge to meet the needs of the people we serve as well as paid and volunteer caregivers, to the best of our ability.
We acknowledge the commitment and responsibility the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging has made to offer the tools, information, education and support to help us honor this covenant and to provide leadership and representation of our efforts in the national arena.
Therefore, as a member of AAHSA, we believe we have special stewardship responsibility to maintain:
Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes Campaign:
The Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes Campaign is designed to improve Quality of Life for both nursing home residents and staff. Nursing homes across the US are joining the campaign by choosing at least three of eight campaign goals to focus on and make improvements. Each home will track their improvements on the web site www.nhqualitycampaign.org.
Regina Health Center has joined this National Campaign that runs from 2006 through 2008. Our facility goals to improve upon are to: 1) Reduce the prevalence of high risk pressure ulcers 2) Reduce the use of daily physical restraints 3) Measure resident and family satisfaction. Facility employees are using existing and newly developed teams, systems, and tools to achieve these improvements. RHC continues its quality improvement work with Ohio KePRO which is Ohio’s Medicare Quality Improvement Organization.
Lift-free Facility Grant:
Regina Health Center has received a generous grant from the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine Foundation – Cleveland to fund the installation of ceiling-mounted patient lift equipment in resident rooms. This technology and equipment will enable us to safely transfer residents in a comfortable and secure manner for residents and staff alike. Installation of the equipment will be completed by summer, 2007.
TESTIMONIAL |
Beth M.: Our family is so grateful for the loving home that Mom found at RHC. Throughout her stay there, and especially during her last days, she was cared for with respect and compassion. We were touched by the kindness of so many. Thank you for all you did for our mother. We will keep you all in our grateful prayers. Love, Beth M. R.
