    COVID-19 - Outdoor Visitation Updated Information »

From Executive Director Mark Yantek: I am happy to be able to report that, as of today, we still have no COVID at Regina Health Center – neither residents nor employees. I am writing today to provide an update on the status of outdoor visitation of loved ones at Regina Health Center. We were happy to welcome the Ohio National Guard this morning to complete the COVID-19 testing, which is one of the mandatory steps required for us to receive permission to allow in-person visits. Please be aware that we are required to wait until we receive all test results before we can take the next step in preparing for visitations, which could take at least a week.

COVID-19 Updated Information - Outdoor Visitation Still on Hold for Now »

From Executive Director Mark Yantek: I am writing with important information regarding the Governor’s order allowing outdoor visitation. The order allows visitation no sooner than July 20th, provided that several requirements have been met. One of those requirements involves the testing of the employees by the Ohio National Guard. Specifically, the order stipulates that all employees must be tested before visitation can be allowed. We were notified that our testing date is tentatively scheduled for July 29th. This means that, unfortunately, we are not permitted to allow family visits here at Regina on July 20th, as we had hoped.

COVID-19 Updated Information - In-Person Visitation Still off Limits »

From Executive Director Mark Yantek: Many of you have heard the news that Governor DeWine has allowed limited visitation at assisted living facilities under modified circumstances. Unfortunately, this does not apply to Regina Health Center, as we are a skilled nursing facility with an integrated assisted living component. Our assisted living residents share the same building, and thus the same living quarters, with the residents in skilled nursing. There is no practical way to segregate the two populations, and there is no fair and equitable way to allow some Regina residents to visit with family and deprive others of the same benefit. The assisted living visitation rule only works for free-standing assisted living facilities without a skilled nursing component. Keeping all of our residents healthy and safe from the coronavirus must remain our highest priority.

Deacon Joe has been hard at work from his room at Regina Health Center helping the homeless and serving as an amazing example of everyone doing their part and serving others during this uncertain time.
